Curriculum and Instruction

●The undergraduate Curriculum employs a bi-track system:
(1)Teaching-Oriented Program: Our department offers a licensure program for prospective teachers. A student must complete a minimum of 148 credits by taking courses in general education, professional education, special education, and electives to fulfill the graduation requirements.

(2)Non-Teaching Oriented Program: A student must complete a minimum of 128 credits by taking courses in general education, special education, and electives. Students can take a minor from other departments to compliment their major in Special Education. Additionally, students are allowed and encouraged to earn dual degrees.

●Master’s Curriculum: To fulfill graduation requirements, a Master’s student must complete a minimum of 32 credits and pass the thesis examination.
